“What real change can I bring if I don’t have the time to give?”
That’s what most people think. But in 2022, Sri Ramakant Beriwal thought differently. After years of quietly observing GDF’s commitment since its inception in 2014, he made a bold and transformative choice—donating his entire bungalow to GDF, turning a concrete house into a hub of hope and learning. The team at GDF was overwhelmed with gratitude and chose its best person, Shilpa Saraf to run the newly opened centre at Salt Lake. The result has been magical. 100+ students attend the centre every single day and 15+ home makers are associated with it.

The Salt Lake Centre radiates positivity from the moment you walk in. The walls were painted and designed by Ms. Mitu Saraf, whose creative vision also graces the covers of GDF’s custom-designed books.
Growth That Speaks for Itself
What started with a small group of students has become one of GDF’s fastest-growing centres. Parents from nearby slum, Duttabad colony, have seen remarkable progress in their children—not just academically, but in confidence and discipline. This has created a ripple effect, with new enrollments continuing to pour in almost every week. The centre offers a wide variety of extra curricular activities like quilling, stitching, knitting, meditation, instrument learning, Geeta classes and much more.
The centre is also regularly visited by donors, creating a powerful bond between supporters and the children whose lives they touch. These interactions not only inspire our students but also deepen the sense of shared purpose within the community.
