Ballygunge is not just a centre for Gyan Deepak Foundation—it is where our journey took its first step. Back in 2014, what began in the fire exit of our founder’s residence with just five children has grown into a structured, impactful education hub.
Facts
Students studying in this branch go to nearby schools such as Rungta Academy, DKAV etc. and stay in nearby slums with their families.
Majority of the students are originally from Bihar.
This, being the oldest centre of GDF has witnessed many stories of struggles, challenges and impossibly difficult situations.
The present scenario is this: we are getting at least 5-6 requests for new admissions every single day from the local neighbourhood and around 2 home makers are joining Gyan Deepak every month.
